11 days // 80 theatre groups // 40  locations // performance, live art, (music) theatre, dance & uninhibited energy.

The Amsterdam Fringe Festival takes place along the fringes of the Dutch Theatre Festival, highlighting Amsterdam's avant-garde drama productions. The Amsterdam Fringe Festival is based on the famous and successful Fringe Festivals held in cities like Edinburgh, Adelaide, New York and Dublin.

During the 11 days of the Fringe you can see works by more than 80 theatre groups, created by unorthodox theatre directors and artists from the Netherlands and other countries, at over 40 different locations spread across the city.

The Amsterdam Fringe has an extensive ‘Language No Problem’ program. You can easily find shows that are in English or that do not feature words or language, as these are marked ‘LNP’. About 50% of the shows is suitable for non-Dutch speakers.
